Werner’s T-shirt

You’ll be like a walking rainbow while out and about wearing this lovely cream top that’s trimmed in bright blue around the sleeves and collar.

The front features a table of swatches and vivid descriptions adapted from Patrick Syme’s book Werner’s Nomenclature of Colours. First published in 1814, it was used by artists and naturalists, including Charles Darwin, to describe wildlife in a consistent way before the advent of photography.

The Red Lilac Purple hue, for example, is like that seen in the “Light Spots of the upper Wings of Peacock Butterfly” or there’s the Aurora Red, which can be found in the “Vent convers of the Pied Wood-Pecker”.

The reverse side repeats these colour swatches in a horizontal panel below our logo.
