Description / Werner’s Notebook

This handy notebook is a great little gift for artists and designers – or anyone who loves beautiful stationery.

The cream front-cover features a chart from Werner’s Nomenclature of Colours by Patrick Syme, which helped naturalists describe plants, animals and minerals in a consistent way before the advent of photography. Charles Darwin famously referenced the book during the Voyage of the Beagle, which surveyed the South American coastline between 1831 and 1836. The plain pages of the notebook are separated with a coloured divider – one of each colour from the chart on the cover.

Hues included are Peach Blossom Red, which you’d find in “Red Cobalt Ore“ and Buff Orange, which is like a “Streak from the Eye of the King Fisher“.
