Description / Ulysses Butterfly Greetings Card

The bright-yellow background of this striking illustration haloes the swallowtail shape of the Ulysses butterfly's irridescent blue wings, as it flutters among botanical drawings of lemon plants. Edged with a golden frame, the card's bold design is based on original artwork in the Museum's Library and Archives, but inside is left blank inside for your own message.

The notecard comes with a white paper envelope that is also certified as sustainable by the Forest Stewardship Council and wrapped in a recycled paper band.

Papilio ulysses is native to the tropical rainforests of Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, where it's also known as the blue emperor due to the colour of its wings which can reach 14cm across.
