Description / Greenwich Pocket Watch

The charm and antique-style of this pocket watch hints at a time of derring-do and adventures on the high seas – it’s the perfect gift for a modern-day explorer who’s surrounded by digital kit.

The aged-effect clockface has roman numerals and the words ‘Greenwich London Longitude’ on it. The reverse of the solid-brass case has a globe with the same words, plus 00°00’00”, which is the position of the Prime Meridian, the imaginary line of longitude 0 that runs through Greenwich in London and helps pinpoint your location on Earth. Nauticalia are the makers of the watch.

Unlike the nineteenth century pocket watches, this twenty-first century one has a reliable quartz movement, which keeps accurate time. Attached is a chain with a lobster claw fastening so you can hook it to a buttonhole and it all comes with a smart velvet presentation bag.
